The coveted Obakki Marketing Internship is a 4 to 6 month fashion industry intro with an opportunity to evolve into a permanent Marketing Coordinator role. We are looking for one ambitious fashion or business student/graduate to commit a minimum of 18 hours per week. Applicants must be resourceful, determined, style savvy and have a genuine interest in philanthropy through fashion.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Showroom Management:
- Merchandising, cataloguing and tracking samples.
- Coordinating PR and stylist requests.
Web & Database Maintenance:
- Developing blog and social media content.
- Metrics research and analysis.
- Blogger Outreach.
Branding & Creative Conceptualization:
- Market research and SWOT analysis.
- Formal and creative writing.
- Identifying trends and tastemakers.
- Seasonal planning and critical path.

Spanish photographer, Alvaro Sanchez-Montañes, photographed the abandoned properties of Kolmaskop, a ghost town in the Namib desert. This ‘Indoor Desert’ series feature the homes and public buildings of a town that was once a rich diamond mining village. The villagers moved when richer diamond deposits were discovered further south. The properties were left to be filled with sand from the winds of the desert.
The Juno Awards are happening on Sunday at Canada’s capital city and what the hey – we’re getting into the fun of it. Our Founder/Creative Director, Treana Peake is set to walk the red carpet in Obakki style, but she’s undecided on the dress.
