Product Care

Hand wash only.

Because it is a porous and natural material without any coating, volcanic stone will darken or stain when in contact with foods and oils.

The Tzalam wood lid finishing is chemical free. Wash with water, soap and dry immediately. Being a tropical wood,it is recommended that you hydrate with linseed oil, coconut oil or beeswax to avoid dryness and cracking, caused by climate change to their natural environment. It is normal that spots and cracks can appear due to use, climate change and contact with some oils.

Artisans of Mexico City

This talented design collective based in Mexico City is the brainchild of an industrial designer from Yucatán, Mexico and a textile designer from Caracas, Venezuela. Giving true meaning to the word ‘collective’, they work with artisans from several states in Mexico – Puebla, Veracruz and Yucatán.

This collective is inspired by Mexico’s historical, natural, and primitive roots. They are founded on the philosophy that we all deserve special, timeless objects in our homes that tell a story through the weathered hands of the finest craftspeople. And they deliver on this promise – using the textures and intentions of these ancient materials and designs to create contemporary pieces with ancestral power.
