Sylvester Ochieng
Sylvester grew up listening to stories about his father’s work as a blacksmith, discovering early on that metal could hold memory, purpose and beauty. Determined to carry that legacy forward, he learned the craft as a young boy and eventually built a small workshop where he continues to forge his path as an artisan. Today, he creates jewelry using recycled brass gathered from taps, padlocks and old coins, transforming forgotten materials into pieces plated with gold or silver.
His work reflects his belief that creativity can build opportunity. Sylvester dreams of opening a center where young people can learn metalwork and develop skills that can shape their future. Each piece he creates speaks to that vision. His jewelry is rooted in tradition, guided by sustainability and shaped by a desire to share knowledge and possibility through craft.
