MEET SYLVIE MACMILLAN
SMALL WORLDS
An instinct for making, expressed at an intimate scale.
London-based craftswoman Sylvie Macmillan has long been drawn to small surfaces, unusual materials, and the possibilities of making by hand. Her creative practice first found expression in fashion, where intricate work demanded patience and precision. Today, she brings that same sensibility into the home, transforming natural materials into sculptural objects that feel curious, tactile, and entirely their own.

LIVING SURFACES
"I wanted the shells to appear naturally grown."
Sylvie reimagines traditional shell art through a more organic lens. Rather than arranging shells in rigid motifs or decorative patterns, she composes each surface so the materials seem to emerge naturally from the form beneath. Inspired by coral, barnacles, rocks, and shipwrecks, her work captures something beautifully untamed, as though nature has slowly claimed each object over time.
MADE TO ENDURE
"It’s fun to make something more permanent."
What began with a candelabra made for her own table has evolved into a growing collection of sculptural homewares and international commissions. Working with responsibly sourced shells and other natural materials, Sylvie creates pieces that sit somewhere between function and sculpture. Each one offers a lasting expression of the same imagination and meticulous handwork that has always defined her creative practice.
