Two women working with yarn, raw materials at Caralarga Mexico - textile design and production studio.

Through our partnership, these pieces are thoughtfully introduced into Canadian projects, ensuring the story behind each work is valued as much as the design itself.

about caralarga

Caralarga works from a small atelier inside a former textile factory in Querétaro, creating sculptural wall hangings from recovered cotton yarn, textile waste, and fiber from the native Sansevieria plant. These humble, considered materials shape each piece — honoring traditional weaving techniques while supporting long-term, sustainable livelihoods within the local community.

Three women stand before the sunlit glass doors of Caralarga’s workshop in Mexico, master artisans and collaborators, working in exclusive partnership with Canadian brand Obakki/

"The main resources we use are raw cotton thread and textile waste, in addition to other natural materials such as sansevieria fiber, recycled bull horn, and bamboo, working hand in hand with artisans who preserve ancestral techniques."

in the press

“Described as jewelry for the home, you can hang Caralarga’s sculptural textiles on your living room wall or drop them from an atrium ceiling, like the braided rope sculptures, some more than 20 feet long.”
