From Sea and Soil
“I gather what the land and ocean give—kelp, lavender, beeswax. Nothing rushed. Everything sacred.”
Tanya Gabrielle’s candles begin long before the pour. The soft floral scent comes from a bounty of lavender she grows herself—tended with care on her Tofino property. The beeswax is locally sourced from trusted farms, chosen for its purity and long burn time. Every ingredient she uses is alive with place and purpose, a quiet offering from nature.

The Wild Pacific as Muse
“Everything I make comes from listening.”
A lover of the sea, Tanya dives into the cold Pacific waters to harvest kelp—drying it on driftwood, then grinding it down by hand to pigment her candles in subtle green hues. This deeply personal process—one shaped by the tides, the forest, and the rhythms of nature—makes each piece feel like a love letter to the West Coast. Raw, sacred, and alive.
Held in Good Company
“Every collaboration is a reflection of her values.”
Tanya creates with deep intention—not just in process, but in partnership. Every collaboration is a reflection of her values: slow, grounded, meaningful. It still feels surreal, she says, to see her work alongside Obakki's artisans she admires. To her, it isn’t just about where her candles live—it’s about the energy they’re surrounded by.
