$40.00
HANDMADE IN JAPAN

A set of three traditional Japanese candles made with 100% natural Sumac wax.

It is said that there are only ten craftsmen in the world who have the skills to produce this type of candle, and they have a smokeless burn with wax that doesn’t drip.

A spiked candle stand is required with these traditional candles. Pairs beautifully with our large iron candle stand or our geometric candle holder. Burn time: 85 minutes per candle.

Color: Sumac

Story

Daiyo was established in the Takashima county of Shiga Prefecture in 1914. The artisanship of making traditional Japanese candles has been passed down across four generations, polished and refined as time passes. Daiyo’s candles are handmade from 100% natural plant wax, and the principles of making candles from the blessings of nature have remained unchanged since the company was established more than a century ago.

Product Care

Japanese candles burn with a large, bright flame. It is recommended to cut the black burned wick with a trimmer to adjust the size of the flame.

Caution: Do not place flammable materials near or above the candle. Keep the candle away from direct sunlight and wind. Never leave a burning candle unattended.

Daiyo

Over a century of Japanese candle making tradition created the Daiyo candle. Created using 100% sustainable, local plant wax from the fruit of the haze tree, this clean burning candle is dripless with virtually no smoke or odour.

Established in 1914 in Takashima County, the Daiyo candle making techniques have been polished and refined over four generations of candlemakers. But their principles of making candles with the blessings of nature have remained unchanged. All locally sourced. All sustainable. All part of their history and their ancestry.
