ROOTED IN HERITAGE
"Our hands remember what the land taught us."
Born in Ukraine, Andriy and Olesya of Natura Ceramica grew up surrounded by art and history. Andriy’s lineage traces back to the Lviv National Art Gallery, while Olesya’s upbringing in Uzhhorod shaped her connection to clay and color. Meeting at the Lviv Academy of Arts, they began their shared journey of creation—building a life and studio in western Ukraine devoted to modern ceramics that honor the land and its ancestral wisdom.
CREATION AS RESILIENCE
"When we left, we carried our studio within us."
When the war began, Andriy and Olesya left Ukraine with their daughter, unsure of what awaited them. In Amsterdam, they rebuilt their practice from the ground up, using their art as a form of remembrance and renewal. Their pieces are meditations on endurance—where clay, coal, and wood converge to express the raw beauty of transformation. Each work is a quiet act of survival, carrying the strength of their story within its form.
NATURE, MEMORY, AND MATERIAL
"We listen to the earth. It tells us what to make."
Natura Ceramica’s sculptural works blur the line between craft and fine art. Shaped by hand and fired with natural materials, their surfaces echo the textures of the Carpathian landscape—charred, cratered, alive. Andriy and Olesya’s approach is deeply intuitive, guided by the rhythms of nature and the traces of memory. Each piece is both an object and a story—an homage to the cycles of decay and renewal that define the natural world.
