MEET Fernanda Mereles
Where Design Meets the Loom
"Heritage, reinterpreted"
Fernanda’s path to textiles began long before the studio. Raised among folk fabrics and handwoven details, she carried that visual language into formal textile studies before finding her way to the pedal looms of Pátzcuaro. There, modern design met ancestral technique. Together with local weavers and seamstresses, she shapes a new interpretation of Mexican textiles rooted in tradition but designed for contemporary life.
Generations at Work
“What we know is passed through our hands.”
Many of the artisans in this workshop come from the same families, carrying weaving knowledge passed down through generations. The rhythm of the loom is familiar, yet every piece brings new expression. The collective works within a horizontal structure that values collaboration, patience, and shared skill. Knowledge is exchanged freely, strengthening both craft and community.
Natural Fibers, Quiet Luxury
“Softness comes from time and intention.”
Working with brushed Mexican cotton and traditional pedal looms, the team creates textiles with depth, softness, and lasting beauty. Upcycled materials are incorporated whenever possible, and production follows the slow, deliberate pace required for true artisan quality. Each piece reflects Fernanda’s belief in sincerity, simplicity, and the quiet elegance found in everyday ritual.
