MEET OAXACAN CERAMIC COLLECTIVE
From Earth to Table
“We give thanks to the earth by creating authentic dishes from its materials.”
At the heart of this collective is a deep respect for the land that provides their clay. Each plate, bowl, and cup begins as raw earth, transformed by young hands into functional beauty. Their work celebrates food as ritual and daily nourishment as something worthy of intention. Every piece carries the quiet rhythm of hands shaping, glazing, and firing with care.
The Next Generation of Makers
“Learning the craft is learning a future.”
This workshop is driven by young ceramicists from the outskirts of Oaxaca City who are learning the craft through hands-on training. Many arrive without formal experience and leave with a trade, a future, and a sense of belonging. The studio is built on discipline, curiosity, teamwork, and the belief that craft can offer a meaningful alternative to migration. Learning is at the core of everything they do.
High-Fire Craft and Original Design
“Fire reveals the character of the clay.”
Working with high-temperature gres fired at over 2300°F, the collective creates low-porosity ceramic tableware designed for plating and presentation. Their custom glazes are developed in-house through a long process of testing local clays, soils, ashes, and mineral blends. Color and texture lead each design, giving every piece subtle variation and character shaped by fire.
