MEET The Tadelakt Potters
A TRIO OF MASTERS
The rhythm of collaboration lives in every vessel.
In the heart of Marrakesh, a trio of artisans—Zakaria, Abdel, and Mohammed—carries forward the legacy of Tadelakt. Each artisan plays a vital role and their process is entirely manual—layered with intention, repetition, and care. This is not assembly-line pottery. It’s a conversation between material and maker, where every bowl or vase is a reflection of shared skill and deep respect for the craft.
The Tadelakt Potters of Marrakech
ONCE USED IN THE WALLS OF PALACES
An ancient technique reborn for modern life.
This ancient Moroccan plaster technique, once used in the walls of palaces and hammams, now coats modern vessels in velvety, polished finishes. The soft sheen and subtle texture of Tadelakt carry the atmosphere of Marrakesh itself—earthy, elegant, and enduring. These pieces are more than decorative objects; they are tactile memories of Morocco’s architectural heritage.
THE FINGERPRINT OF THE ARTISAN
Perfection lies in the touch, not the symmetry.
Every Tadelakt piece begins with raw, red terracotta—shaped slowly by hand, layer by layer. Once formed, it’s coated in a lime-based plaster, tinted with natural pigments, and polished smooth with river stone in a repetitive, meditative motion. Subtle variations, soft edges, and tonal shifts are not flaws—they’re the fingerprint of the artisan, a quiet reminder of the time, pressure, and patience behind every piece.
