A NEW LANGUAGE OF CRAFT
"When I’m working with new artisans, my approach is always: ‘let me hear you.’ "
Founded by Dominican designer Javier Reyes and Mexican artist Melissa Ávila, rrres is a Latin American design studio based in Oaxaca. Their work centers on direct collaboration with artisans and their communities, exploring traditional techniques while pushing the boundaries of craft. Each collection reflects an ongoing dialogue between ancestral knowledge and new forms of expression.
INSPIRED BY THE LAND
"We don’t replicate the past—we build on it."
From rugs and textiles to ceramics, sculpture, and furniture, the work of rrres is rooted in the materials and techniques of the region—wool, palm, clay, cotton, and earth-derived pigments. Each piece is developed through close collaboration with artisans, exploring traditional methods while shaping them into a contemporary body of work.
CRAFT WITH INTEGRITY
"I want to empower the image of artisans, without romanticising their lives or their ways."
By building long-term partnerships with underrepresented artisans, rrres ensures that every piece carries meaning beyond its form. Their process honors cultural legacy, uplifts creative voices, and invites a deeper connection to the time, skill, and heritage behind each object.
