A NEW LANGUAGE OF CRAFT
"When I’m working with new artisans, my approach is always: ‘let me hear you.’ "

Founded by Dominican designer Javier Reyes and Mexican artist Melissa Ávila, rrres studio is based in Oaxaca and grounded in collaboration. Inspired by the living traditions of Zapotec heritage and ancestral craft, the duo works hand-in-hand with local artisans to preserve age-old techniques while creating space for new possibilities.

INSPIRED BY THE LAND
"We don’t replicate the past—we build on it."

From rugs, textiles, and ceramics to sculpture and furniture, the work of rrres is rooted in traditional materials—wool, palm, clay, cotton, and earth-dyed pigments. Reyes and Ávila draw inspiration from the natural world, adapting organic forms into bold, contemporary designs that echo the playful energy of Surrealist landscapes.

CRAFT WITH INTEGRITY
"I want to empower the image of artisans, without romanticising their lives or their ways."

By building long-term partnerships with underrepresented artisans, rrres ensures that every piece carries meaning beyond its form. Their process honors cultural legacy, uplifts creative voices, and invites a deeper connection to the time, skill, and heritage behind each object.
