Diego Olivero & the Guadalajara Glassblowers
This collection was created by designer Diego Olivero in collaboration with a cooperative of skilled glassblowers in Guadalajara, Mexico. One of the country’s most important centers for traditional glassmaking, Guadalajara has sustained the craft since the 16th century when Spanish artisans first introduced glassblowing to the region.
Working alongside more than 150 artisans, Diego developed a collection that honours both tradition and contemporary design. Each piece is mouth-blown using recycled glass sourced from post-consumer bottles, then shaped entirely by hand using techniques passed down through generations.
Small variations in form, texture, and proportion reflect the human touch behind every object. By working with these makers, the collection supports a thriving community of artisans while helping preserve a centuries-old tradition of Mexican glassblowing.
