Our roll-on perfumes and candles are hand-mixed in small batches and formulated as clean, non toxic scents — free of phthalates and unnecessary additives — allowing the notes of sandalwood, bergamot, patchouli, and palo santo to unfold in a way that feels personal and grounding.

Fragrance Atelier
Seme, Limbe and Arua began as names. Places in Africa that stayed with our founder, Treane Peake, over the years. At Obakki, fragrance is often named after locations that hold personal meaning. The scent itself is not meant to replicate the place, but to carry a mood, a memory, or a feeling worth returning to.
To develop this collection, we worked closely with a boutique fragrance studio in Brooklyn that operates as both a creative lab and a manufacturing house. Everything is developed and produced in-house, allowing for a thoughtful, collaborative process from first formulation to final pour. Each fragrance was custom created for Obakki and hand-blended to our specifications in small batches.
Scent as Ritual: From Perfume Oil to Candle
At Obakki, scent extends beyond perfume oil. Our hand-poured soy wax candles are crafted as clean-burning, non toxic candles designed to elevate everyday ritual. Each luxury scented candle is formulated without unnecessary additives, allowing the integrity of the fragrance to remain clear and expressive.
Hand-poured at the same Brooklyn atelier where our clean fragrance oils are blended, our candles are available in our signature scents, Seme and Limbe, translating their grounding citrus-wood compositions into a slow, atmospheric burn. Our newest addition, Arua, offers a brighter expression — with notes of mandarin rind, orange peel, rosemary, and water lily layered over hinoki, sheer amber, and agave nectar for a scent that feels luminous, warm, and quietly complex.
