Story

For the masters of the Red Clay of Oaxaca, pottery is a way of life for the whole family, and it begins at a young age. A girl who becomes a potter is raised around clay and fire from the day she is born.

For 20 generations, Macrina's village has specialized in creating cookware and serving pieces from the unique red clay that is found in the area, and the process has remained unchanged for generations.

The thermal qualities of red clay mean that these unique pieces can be directly exposed to extremely high temperatures, making them durable and stylish. Mix and match with our other hand-made clay dinnerware and serving pieces to create your dream table setting.

Macrina Martínez is a master of ancestral red clay pottery, carrying forward a lineage shaped by twenty generations of women before her. Raised beside fire and earth from birth, she learned the craft directly from her Zapotec mother and grandmother. With no local market to sustain her community, at just sixteen years old Macrina traveled alone to sell her family’s pots, introducing their red clay tradition to a wider world.

Today, her work continues to shape both culture and community. Her courage helped spark economic independence for women in her village and transformed how female potters are seen and valued. Through her work, generations of women have found both voice and livelihood through clay.

Love them but it's not 60ml...
Absolutely LOVE the shape and texture but it's not 60ml. It's 40ml tiny cup.
Wish I can buy a coffee cup size of this🤎
