SUPPORTING DESIGN AT HOME
IDS x Obakki Canadian Design Incubator
IDS and Obakki have partnered in order to support emerging talent to show their designs on the national level.
Known for working with artisans all over the world, Obakki understands the importance of fostering the next generation of talent here at home.
Obakki has committed to selecting one participant each year to mentor through a 360-degree program designed to provide international exposure, market access, and inside knowledge on how to build the foundations required to succeed as a brand on a global level.Â
Meet our first inductee in the program –– Cyrc.

ZERO-waste product
"We design objects that make it easier for you to live by your principles."
Creating functional objects for the home from recycled plastic waste, this brand from Montreal believes that true sustainability takes responsibility for the entire life cycle of a product.
Cyrc’s sustainable design methodologies and innovative principles promote a future where the simple act of owning an object doesn't come with hidden costs from extraction, production, and exploitation.
CIRCULAR DESIGN
We transform recycled plastic
The more recycled material we use, the more we support circular material economies and that is imperative to our survival on this finite planet.
If we don’t change our habits, by 2025 roughly 12 billion tonnes of plastic waste will be in landfills or polluting the natural environment.
Central to Cyrc's ethos is the concept of circularity, and being able to extend the life of recycled materials through innovative design.
